Chelsea’s new aid Thiago Silva talked about his mental journey when he was suffering from tuberculosis in an interview. He recalled that he felt that his life was about to end at that time, but he survived in the end.
Speaking of this experience, Thiago Silva said: "It was one of the worst experiences in my life. In 2005, I felt that my life was about to end, but thank God, I overcame the disease. Today I can say that I have won both in my professional and personal life."
"My childhood dream was to become a professional football player, and when I got tuberculosis, this dream seemed to be shattered. Now I think I am not only a champion of football, but also a champion of life. Thank God for giving me the strength to go. Overcome it and get back to health. This experience is difficult to tell, because it brings back memories of me. I remember my last day in the hospital. The doctor told me that I have not healed yet and I need a lung surgery. This will end his football career."
"But thank God and the medical experts, I slowly recovered, and then I went back to football bit by bit. This experience is very difficult."
